Here, the CBI team arrested Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar in a bribery case. According to sources, the CBI arrested him red-handed while accepting a bribe.

The CBI laid a trap and arrested Ropar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar on Thursday. According to sources, he was arrested after a raid at his office in Chandigarh. This action is being reported in connection with a case involving a scrap dealer from Mandi Gobindgarh. It is reported that the CBI may soon issue a press note and the CIG may be produced before a special court.

The DIG was known as a tough officer

It should be noted that DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar was known for his tough actions and honest image. He was known for his strong action against drug mafia, organized crime, and social security issues. However, his arrest in a corruption case has shocked everyone. According to sources, he was accepting bribes of ₹5 lakh per month. The CBI received a complaint in this regard. Following this, the Chandigarh unit of the CBI launched an investigation.

Action was taken against the drug mafia

Harcharan Singh Bhullar took several strong actions and implemented several stringent measures during his tenure. He registered 288 FIRs and arrested 452 drug traffickers under the "War on Drugs" campaign. His focus wasn't limited to arrests, but he also emphasized breaking the drug supply chain.
